Dear Mercy Health Bethlehem Home for the Aged residents and families,
After the excitement from yesterday’s small fire, which temporarily put us in the spotlight for a moment our residents remain well.
With our second round of swabbing to test for coronavirus completed yesterday I know, like me, you will be keen to find out the results of those tests. I will let you know as soon as I can confirm those results. I would like to again thank all residents and staff who underwent swabbing.
We continue with our daily monitoring and cleaning and to attend to all of the activities to provide the best care for our residents given the circumstances do not yet allow us to open the front doors.
We must all do everything we can to keep each other safe in the community. If you need advice about how to stay safe at home, please ask our staff the next time they call.
In the coming days I hope to be able to confirm that we have taken delivery of additional computer tablets that our IT staff are getting to us to increase our ability to do skype video calls between residents and families and residents and health practitioners.
I am aware that we have been sending daily updates and it is my intention to keep those updates coming to you each day. If you would like us to provide different or extra information please let us know. I hope the communication is useful and provides some reassurance that we are doing everything that we can to keep everyone safe and to limit transmission of this virus. I will also change the structure of these letters slightly based on your feedback so that you can easily find key pieces of information within the update.
I will be in touch again tomorrow to keep you up to date with any news from our home. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask our staff.
