Mercyville Hostel is a unique home designed to provide comfort and care for female residents. It’s a cosy home set among churches and landscaped gardens and active living is a big part of every day.
Whatever your passion, we’ll support you to pursue activities you enjoy. There’s always an exciting activity taking place: from high tea and bus adventures to arts and crafts classes. Residents have even helped develop their own radio program, ‘Mind the Change’.
When things quieten down, many residents enjoy religious services and opportunities for reflection, either at the nearby parish church or in our on-site chapel.

Our home offers speech pathology services to assess, diagnose and treat communication or swallowing disorders. Our local allied health therapists can provide speech pathology services in-home as you require, or as part of a high-care plan. If you’re generally well and would like speech pathology, or have higher care needs and seek extra allied health support, you can arrange for your preferred therapists to visit on a fee-for-service basis.
We can provide support to your family and other primary carers who need additional assistance, or who simply need a break and time to themselves. Our home offers respite care in the form of short-term accommodation for your family members or primary carers.
Chaplains visit our home, and are available on-call for pastoral ministry and specific religious rituals. We can also arrange pastoral care from a religious representative from your own faith for your convenience.
Podiatry services are available for medical conditions affecting the foot, ankle and leg. Our local allied health therapists can provide podiatry in the home as part of a high care plan. If you’re generally well and would like these services, or have higher care needs and seek extra allied health support, you can arrange for your preferred therapists to visit on a fee-for-service basis.
Physiotherapists help people move more easily and improve their physical ability. You may undertake physiotherapy as part of a high-care plan or rehabilitation program. If you’re generally well and would like access to physiotherapy services, or if you have higher needs and require extra support, you can arrange for your preferred therapists to visit on a fee-for-service basis.
Pastoral Care Associates can offer you and your loved ones spiritual and emotional support. We can also coordinate prayer groups or church services, including regular Mass, sacramental care and denominational services.
For those nearing the end of life, our palliative care team works with family and friends to offer physical, spiritual, emotional and social support.

Our home caters for people living with dementia or memory loss. We partner with you and your loved one to get to know their personal story so daily life and activities can be tailored to suit their specific needs and interests.
Mercyville Hostel is a 17-bed home for female residents.
Each room features a private ensuite, and comes appointed with a single bed, bedside cabinet and chair. Residents can bring furniture and treasures from home to decorate their personal space.
Some rooms offer access to internal gardens via a sliding door, while rooms on the other side of the building overlook lush exterior gardens. For your comfort and assurance, there is a 24/7 nurse call system. Sitting rooms located throughout the building support the home’s communal and friendly atmosphere.
All food is prepared and cooked on site every day by our highly experienced chefs. Our menus are designed to cater for high-quality seasonal produce, and there’s something new every week. We can cater for resident choices, dietary needs and cultural requirements.
- Breakfast: selection of juices, cereals, porridge, yoghurt, toast, spreads, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. Hot breakfast is available on weekends.
- Lunch: roast lamb, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, two fruits in jelly and ice cream.

Located in Craigie, Mercyville Hostel is close to the beautiful Hillarys Boat Harbour. The marina offers a variety of restaurants and shops and you can catch a 45-minute ferry to experience the pristine beauty of Rottnest Island.
Whitfords Shopping Centre is a short five-minute drive from our home. Once the centre’s renovation project is complete, Whitfords will house over 200 shops and restaurants with a cinema complex. In the meantime, we have a local library that provides a fantastic selection of reading materials for residents.
At home we hold regular bingo sessions and arts and craft classes, and we frequently invite local entertainers to come and perform.

Our home is very peaceful. It provides a lovely setting for residents with beautifully kept gardens. The staff at our home are extremely dedicated to our residents, with some staff having worked here for over 25 years. I love the sense of family.
